I don't understand how a 8k BTU air conditioner doesn't cool off a small bedroom? This air conditioner is just awful. This is definitely not 8,000, it's barely a 5,000. It does not work. You can only feel cool air when standing right in front of it but it won't condition the rest of the at all. It feels like I don't have one at all and it extremely noisy when the cool air does come through for only 5 minutes then idles loudly blowing in hot outside air for almost a hour. What is this?? Plus no matter what I can't get the wifi connection to work. I've tried everything under the sun to get it to work but it never connected with the app.

THIS IS THE BEST AIR CONDITIONER I HAVE EVER OWNED..IT COOLS GREAT ! THE WIFI ACCESS APP TO IT IS PERFECT. I CAN CHANGE SETTINGS WHILE AWAY FROM HOME IF NEEDED AND IT SHOWS IT RUNNING AND THE KWH ITS USING. OH AND IT WORKS WITH MY GOOGLE HOME.. I WAS WITHOUT AIR FOR A WEEK AT 109 OUTSIDE AND WHEN I INSTALLED THIS IT TOOK A FEW HOURS AND MY HOUSE OF 90 DEGREES GOT DOWN TO 70 AND I WAS IN HEAVEN. ONCE I GOT IT COOLED IN HERE I PUT IT ON ECO AND AUTO AND IT IS KEEPING RIGHT CLOSE TO IF NOT UNDER A LITTLE TO WHAT I HAVE IT SET ON. HOPEFULLY IT KEEPS WORKING LIKE THIS FOR YEARS. So far, I have loved my AC. Its over a 100F in my area in Portland, OR and as soon as I installed the AC and turned it on, within 10 mins, I could feel my living room get cooler. I live in an apartment and wfh from the guest bedroom, so I had kept the door open for the cool air to come in and boy its been effective. Would highly recommend

Air conditioner froze up one time didn't cool at all after the defrosted AC was a little over a month old, very hard to reach anyone to talk to about repairing or replacing unit. I would not recommend buying this unit or anything else from this company.

On high cool it took almost 12 hours to lower the temperature to 74 in my 360 square foot bedroom. Very disappointed in its performance. Also it leaks water on to my window sill. Wish I bought a different brand!

We purchased in 2022 for our home in upstate NY. Used for 2 summers and only on days when temps were 80 and above. Summer of 2024 the unit would not stay on. Did all the trouble shooting per the manual. No luck. Called GE customer service. Determined it was a faulty electrical panel and it could not be fixed. Unfortunatly 2 years old it was out of warranty. They are sending us a $100.00 voucher to purchase another. The original is now in a landfill after only 6 months of use.

Made carefully. Every detail of installation and operation has been thought through. My GE air conditioner fell from the second floor onto the concrete. I took it apart - all the mechanisms are intact!!! I repaired the case and the air conditioner works again!!! Fantastic endurance!!! Therefore, I also bought an air conditioner from the same GE company.

I am deeply disappointed with this air conditioner as it will no longer cool after only two seasons of use. It was purchased as a replacement for another GE 8000 BTU that gave me similarly limited service. Both units worked fine but for only a short time so I will not be purchasing any other GE air conditioners.

Worked for 1 season - no longer stays on

Air conditioner failed after 1 season of use. It turns on and then immediately shuts off again. No warranty. The wi-fi settings are printed on a small label on the SIDE of the unit and it is impossible to see when you have it installed in a window (you have to uninstall the unit to see the codes). Horrible design idea.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars to this unit happens to be because it turns off on its own after a few hours of use. Been only a month since I purchase this unit. I checked the filter and it is good. Even the app for the WIFI tells you when the filter needs to be checked and everything is good. Why is the AC turning off? I have never had an issue in the past with AC units turning off on its own unless it is on AUTO which this isn't the case.

I've given this AC unit a 4 to get your attention. Please change the AC software to keep the more recent settings instead of reverting back to the default settings,.The SmartHQ remote software requires that I change back to the previous settings each time I turn on the AC. Other that this, I'm pleased with its performance as an air conditioner and I like having its remote control feature. I am currently using is AC as a dehumidifier in my basement. One hour a day does the job. An added benefit over a dehumidifier is the cooling instead of heating which penetrates up into the house reducing house AC needs.

I've had the ac for almost two months now. It works efficiently in cooling my room and it's not that noisy. However, it constantly turns on/off, it won't connect to the smart hq app, and now, it won't even turn on at all. The filters are not clogged, the drain hole outside is left open, and the ac is tilted so it doesn't accumulate rain water. I checked to see if there's continuity in the control board while it is plugged in, and there is. I don't know why it's not turning on. It's brand new.
